Ok TexAgs, need some advice. My wife's 2011 Cadillac SRX displayed error code P0442 "EVAP system leak". I replaced the solenoid valve, and tried a different gas cap, but I still get the error after resetting it (after a few days). Car still starts but 1/20 times it doesn't fire start up...

Any chance there is anything else I can look at prior to bringing it to a shop to have them vacuum leak check it?

Most likely the purge valve.

Ok based on y'all's comments, I found a video explaining it and plan to get a new purge valve. Initially I'm having issues finding it on the engine, but I'll report back on if I can find it!

I knocked or out last night. The dang purge solenoid was behind the engine on the passenger side (which was the opposite of every other cars solenoid apparently). But the old one was definitely leaking through, so hopefully it is fixed (and I don't have to run new hoses through it).
