How long do you want to ignore this user?
Also, the brake lights are not coming on. I installed a new brake light switch (SW-6559), and this didn't fix the problem. I'm pretty sure that I checked the right fuse, and it was good.

Thoughts?

Edit to add & remove my irrelevant story...: googled problem, found this for 2007... Sounds more like your issue...

Quote:

If you cannot move the gearshift lever out of P (Park) with ignition in
the ON position and the brake pedal depressed, or when the ignition is
in the OFF position, it is possible that a fuse has blown or the vehicle's
brakelamps are not operating properly. Refer to Fuses and relays in the
Roadside Emergencies chapter.

If the fuse is not blown, perform the following procedure:
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the key to the OFF position.
3. Remove the access plug on top of
the steering column.
4. Using a flat-head screwdriver or
similar tool, move the brake-shift
interlock actuator spindle toward
the left, apply the brake and shift
the transmission into N (Neutral).
5. Start the vehicle.
6. Reinstall the access plug.

Do not drive your vehicle until you verify that the brakelamps
are working

I'm an idiot. Pulled the thing out and reinstalled. This time with a satisfying "click". Everything is back to normal.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
