2014 Explorer Sport, push button start and all the bells and whistles.

Changed battery. Went to start the car. No start, all sorts of warning lights. Seems like a memory or key fob issue from battery being disconnected.

Came inside, started thread on this. Went back outside, tried it again, it started right up. Figured it needed to warm up. Have an airbag light burning (sensor issue I think) so I went to scan the code with my OBD2 reader. Shut car off after that. Tried to restart and it is back to acting up.

What gives? What the heck am I supposed to do to remedy?

Seems like changing a battery ought to be straightforward, always has been in the past.

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable and let it sit for about 5 minutes to let everything reset. That solved a couple of MFT issues with my wife's Edge when it would spazz out and not shut off. It also solved an AC issue I had in my old Frontier with the AC not blowing cold after changing the battery. After I did that, it was back to blowing like it should.

Yep I've done that one, didn't work.

I think the computer just lost its mind. Tow of shame forthcoming.

Did you drive it at all?

If the battery was disconnected for a long time, you may need the sensors to all recalibrate.

Bring it by the house, I can hook it up to the laptop.

OK this was weird.

I couldn't get it to do anything no matter what I tried.

Tow guy came out and said lets try this. Got out his little electronic jumper. It said the system was good, but he left it on there anyway and it started. LIke it just needed a little more boost to reset everything or something. It was fine since.

I have it at my trusted local guy just getting checked out, but I haven't heard back yet, will let you know if anything is diagnosed. If I was in H-town I sure woulda brought it over.

I had a truck and charger that if the battery ran too low, it wouldn't charge, but if I got a little bit of charge on it with a jump, then it would charge right up again.

I work in the tine, but the casa is in BCS

My local guy said it had a bunch of low voltage messages which jacked up a bunch of stuff. He had to do resets on a bunch of things. Checked out ok at the end of the day. Leaving it there overnight so see if any overnight voltage drop, will check it again 1st thing in the AM when I pick it up.

Maybe the interval with the battery pulled hurt it. I pulled it, went to Walmart, came back and reinstalled. Probbaly an hour with no battery present. Seems like that should not hurt anything, but I don't know.
