I'm 75% certain that the front diff on my wife's '07 Grand Cherokee is dying. Pretty good roar starting to build, and I can feel the vibrations in the floor.
Noticeable difference between being on and off the gas too, i.e. torque applied.
Checked all four wheels off the ground for wheel bearing play or noise while turning - nothing.
Listened for CV joint noise in a tight turn in both directions - nothing
I have not had a chance to pull the drain plug and check for shavings. I will do that.
However, I'm wondering if any of y'all know a good, reputable shop that could rebuild the front diff, but won't try to scam me with parts I don't need, say a bearing is bad, but not the carrier.
Thanks for any help.
