The below picture is of, what looks to me like, a small ball check valve that fell out of a Powerstroke 6.0 oil cooler assembly.

I was helping a friend this weekend and when I split the top piece from the assembly, this fell out. Thus, I was unable to see where it came from.

We searched through YouTube and Google and could find no information on it. So, if it's out there, we suck at searching.

Anyone know where exactly this goes in the cooler?

I'm betting AgMechanic will know when he finds this thread.

Mystery solved.

It's a check valve from the thermostat. It broke off and somehow ended up in the oil cooler; water side.

Haha....scale would have been nice. That looks like something the size of my thumb.
