My identity was stolen recently, and the perps opened several credit card accounts in my name. Although it was a major pain in the butt, that has all been taken care of.

This week we received a notice from Sirius XM asking us the renew our subscription - only problem is it was a vehicle that we don't own. My wife called Sirius and found out that someone had purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, apparently in my name. I'm sure they never made any payments, so repossession is probably in the future, and it's in my name. Sirius did give us the VIN.

Can anyone use a VIN and find out where the vehicle was purchased and registered? What about finding out who did the financing? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Both autocheck and carfax do not have the
most recent sale info on file yet.
So perhaps you don't officially own it yet.

The credit bureaus should be able to tell you what dealers have pulled your credit.

They could have also just opened the SXM account under your name.

She was my date. They were terminally tan and wearing loin cloths, so I don't think a Jeep GC was their style.
