After wanting to downsize from the Tundra for a while, and eyeing the 4Runner for even longer, I finally decided to pull the trigger!

I've lurked around here for a while, and after seeing this thread, I decided to email reproag I have to say that I've always hated buying cars because of the dealership games, and this was the first time it's ever been a painless process. Made the trek to Brenham this morning, and I'll be back when we replace my wife's car in a few months!

Obligatory rule 1:

Should be a very nice vehicle. Still not a fan of the front end, but that's a matter of taste. Functionally, it is a good truck.

Very nice! How are the seats comfort wise?

I like them. I saw the concerns in the recent thread, but don't notice anything bad so far. In fact, being able to raise the front of the seat will probably make them much more comfortable for longer rides than anything else I've owned (I get cramps in my hip/butt when driving more than a couple of hours, which are better with a small pillow or something under my knee).

What was it people didn't like about them?

I originally was looking for the lighter color, but decided I liked this one better after Buck suggested I look at it.

They suck. That's what we don't like about them.

In all honesty, it's hard to describe. My Mom has had two of this generation and the angles or something makes them feel weird - like sitting on plywood. I love everything about 4Runners...except the seats.

And the seats in my 4Runner are awesome.

Me to, on the seats. I loved my 2010, but I traded if after a year because of the seat.

Is there an aftermarket option on the seats?

Have they added a power liftgate on the 4Runner yet? That was the only negative when we were looking a few years ago. I still like them and if they'll add a power liftgate for my short wife the next time we're shopping, I think we'd pull the trigger.

Same here, no complaints on my 2015 (and that was after several round trips to College Station this past fall).

Good looking truck in the OP!

nice looking truck.

I have a storm grey 2014 and love it.

hoping the power lift gate actually comes through, so I can get rid of the wife's POS Honda and get her in a Runner as well...loathe the Pilot.

she's too short to open/close the lift gate as much as she would need.

Are those seats air conditioned? I couldn't tell from the pic.

I think the seat issue is related to a lack of thigh support for anyone of medium height or taller. At least that's my issue, although I will say that after 11 years my seats still look like new.

They are. Air blows from the seat and lower back, rather than just the seat like in other vehicles I've had with heated/ventilated seats.

I'm 6'2", and thigh support has been a problem for me in most cars I've owned, including the tundra I traded. With the adjustability of these, I can raise the front, lower the back, and feel like I get pretty good support. I haven't taken it on any long drives yet, though, and that's when I've usually noticed it.
