I think this is solution to roadway funding issues. Say 500-1000 bucks a year gets you a left lane sticker. Also car has to be less than 5 years old and in good mechanical shape. In exchange no/faster speed limit.

Don't like the 5 year old rule. As long as they run good and can keep up, let them go. No reason to block something like an NSX, 911, or Ferrari just because they aren't 2010 or newer.

I have a rear turbo V8 in the works...a 92 Q45. A DOHC V8 that made 300hp bone stock. It's no Atom, but It'll be a blast to drive with some boost.

And the real killer, texting while driving, remains legislatively on ignore.

The motorcycle thing is the right comparison. A motorcyclist without a helmet isn't going to kill someone else. An Atom driver isn't going to kill someone else. If they want to risk it, by all means let them.

Just wanted to post on the same thread as the guy I looked up to as a kid growing up in bracket racing...

I did a little bracket racing back when...in my Austin Healey with the 350 Chevy engine. Ran low 11s. Fairly quick for a street 'legal, ahem' car, esp in the early 70s.

Any update on the Ariel issue?
