For anyone interested in the Houston area, the WWII Freedom Flyers are out at Hooks Airport in Tomball. At quick glace, I saw a B-17 Flying Fortress and B-25 Mitchell on the flight deck.

EDIT: B-17, not B-19

A few years ago, the Wings of Freedom exhibition was at Houston Executive Airport near Brookshire with fighters (P-51 Mustang, Japanese Zero) and bombers (B-17, B-24) on display as well as some other more modern aircraft. There was no charge for looking at the outside, but pay the money and climb through the bombers. It gives you whole new appreciation for what these heroes went through.

Also gives you an appreciation of how small they were. They were a lot skinnier and shorter than we...

My Dad & I got a private tour of the Lone Srar Flight Museum in Galveston one time, it's amazing how big the B-17 is, yet how tight it is inside. Same for the P-51, the only real comfortable one was the Stearmann.
