so, i'm getting my jeep back from my little brother after a long term - 5 year - loan. and it doesn't quite look the same. this '97 TJ is coming back to me with a lift kit that i want gone. is this easy enough to remove in the driveway?? if so, where can I source the OEM parts to drop it back to earth?

If it is a suspension lift, I have stock springs from a 2005 Wrangler. This is an LJ, which is just a longer wheelbase than the TJ, but I think the springs are the same.

I'm digging into the brand - more info soon. Is it just a matter of changing springs and shocks? A trade sounds good to me if the gear is right.

May have to change control arms, too. I also have springs, shocks and control arms from my 04 TJ if you're in need. I'm in CS.

Why bother? That's decent stuff, and 2" isn't worth the trouble.

A good kit like that can actually make it drive better than stock.

I agree. That's a very mild lift, and OME is some good stuff. Drive it a while and see if you like it. If not, I've still got stock springs for you.

As stated above, leave it alone!

I don't understand the question. Do you mean that you want to put a bigger lift on it?

In response to the nay sayers:

1) I think it drove better with the oem equipment, lower to the ground, then it does with these hiked up springs. It rides like a dump truck with the lift.
2) It may be a 4" lift I was guessing
3) It has 32 or 33" tires on it currently that need to be replaced. I would much rather pay for the smaller tire that originally came on the thing but the small tire will look silly on a lifted jeep.
4) I think lifts are dumb.

4" is a bit more. If you are going to downsize, then it makes sense. Jeeps of that vintage all drive like a dumptruck anyways.

Lifts are fine if they're purposeful. If you want bigger tires for better traction driving in sand or snow or mud, or for ground clearance, it makes sense.

I run a 97 TJ with high fenders, 35s, stock springs, stock shocks, 2" spacers. I would certainly swap my stock stuff for 2" springs and shocks. Let me know if interested. I am in SA but will be in CS next Thursday. Leaving from there to go on a wheeling run to Disney, OK.

back in Houston and want to figure out this lift deal. I still don't know how much of a lift it has, but it's for sale/trade. pictures below. the tires for reference are 31x10.5.

what I want: stock springs for this TJ and AT tires - 235 to 225/75/15

It's a 2" lift on paper, 3" in reality. That's the OME way!

BTW...my buddy already bought an OME lift.

OME rover springs work opposite. They say 2, more like 1
