Have any of you changed your chevy bowtie emblem in the front or back to a different color via paint or vinyl sticker? Want to change the gold emblem from gold to charcoal colored but not sure the easiest/best way to do it. So curious if any of you changed your color? It's for a tahoe, btw...

It looks like the rear emblem is not bolted on but done through adhesive tape that sounds like a pain to get off....

I think I am going to try the vinyl first and if that doesn't look good I will try the plasti dip option.

If you did the plasti dip did you take off the rear emblem or left it on and applied it that way?

I used vinyl on mine. When it starts getting aged/ratty looking, peel it off and reapply a new sheet.

I got a square of it large enough to cover the whole bowtie, applied it with a decal squeegee and then trimmed the excess of with a scalpel.

I did my Camaro. Took them off, put vinyl in the inner/recessed part of the bowie and then plastidiped the outer. I'll post some pics later.

I had a Texas flag vinyl sticker on my old truck emblem but you couldn't really see it clearly past the grille guard so it looked good

Corpsag12- so what you are saying is it looked crappy up close but hidden by a grill guard it looked fine.

Here is before I plastidipped, the center has already had vinyl added to it:

That looks sweet Hennessy! Nice job. If the vinyl doesn't work for me I will try the plastdip. The problem I have is the rear badge on the tahoe is not bolted in, so it's a pain to peel off. Would rather not spray it on with it still attached to the tahoe.

This is how I am hoping mine turns out (proposed before/after):

Here is the final product. Not quite sure if I like it yet but it was really easy to put on....

Very easy to get off. Run fishing line behind it to cut the adhesive and pull off bowtie. Then heat up the adhesive on tailgate and peel it off. I pulled off all my TX edition badging, dealer crap, and rear bowtie and it was easy. Goo gone will clean up the remainder.

Imagine all the badges on your car, now think of what it'd look like without those badges.

Mental pictures FTW

Haha... Sorry I thought you removed them, painted or vinyled over and reapplied.

Thanks, looks pretty good!

It's actually not bad to get the plastidip off if you decide to plastidip while it is attached.
