This will be for a car thats never been registered in Texas prior.

Also, i noticed they're using a presumptive value or purchase price, whichever is higher...will they have any way of knowing what i paid for it being that it was purchased out of state?

Are you paying cash or financing?

Get it inspected and get the out of state inspection form (I forgot what it is called). Take, inspection papers, insurance, drivers license, title to DMV.

Agswin is talking about the VI-30A.

Ask your financing arm what they want to do.

They will want to be a leinholder.

If its a credit union, sometimes they can handle the transfer for a small fee.

It has a current Indiana inspection sticker. Does the VI-30A basically transfer the inspection over to a Texas inspection sticker for the remainder of the Indiana stickers life?

Am i unable to register it since i don't have the title? Does the purchase contract not work as a substitute? I guess either way, i'm stuck paying taxes on the purchase price versus presumptive value (the sales price is about $5k higher than DMV PV). Oh well.

You will have to get a Texas inspection. It doesn't matter that it has time left on the Indiana sticker.

Does the inspection place not require a registration sticker to complete the inspection?

Drive up, show them your insurance card, tell them you bought it from out of state, ask for a state inspection with a VI-30A.
