Which one do y'all think is better? I actually liked the interior of the Dodge better than the F-250, although they're both so nice it hardly matters. I like the exterior of the 250 better, and have heard bad things about Dodge's, but the price on the Dodge is so good its hard to pass up.

Any input on the Ram 2500?

Longhorn? Longhorn?

This is a very simple decision 2%er!

You're not going to find much dodge love around here.

There is a reason why the price is so good.

Theres a few dodge ram owners here who seem to like their trucks, I owned one Dodge pickup, a 98.5 2500 4x4 with the 24 valve. I liked the powertrain, it was a great engine, however, other things like trim, fit and finish and minor electronics would drive you insane. Door locks work, sometimes, windows stop working and mysteriously start working again, radio display fading in and out, lift pump failures, door latches breaking.

I've had lots of Super Duty Diesels and one Gasser, and If given the choice would pick Ford over Dodge.

Why do people hate Dodge diesels so much? Have they actually owned one or is because some punk smoked them?

I have owned 2, a 2007 3500 dually with the 6.7 and my current truck an 06 2500 with a 5.9L. Interior wise they are not great(or at least 3rd gens aren't). The Cummins engine is a workhorse and has pulled any and everything I have hooked up to. Yeah they are cheaper than the rest, they also have one of the best engines you can get.

Either way, get the truck you like the best and will fit you needs. Either truck would be awesome to own.

Post some pictures when you get it.

People that really pull heavy and often buy Dodge's around here. Probably because they wear the truck out before the interior has time to crap out, or they don't care about image.

Dodge has always had an inferior interior in regard to durability. Everything can/will go to hell besides the drivetrain.

That said, we have a '91 that has been better than a '00. Both were better than the '85 Ford I drove in high school that couldn't pull your hat off.

Most of my friends avoid the newer trucks because of the low sulfer engine issues. I don't know what farmers are going to do in 5-10 years when their old trucks are worn out and there is such a gap of "do not buy" year models.

If I had to buy a truck today I would probably end up with a Ford, but haven't looked a the price differential lately to know for certain.

between the two flashy top line versions of both, i think visually i prefer the dodge. i like the interior of the ford a little better but externally i think the dodge looks a lot better.

that's just me though.

I have a 2002 2500 ram with the cummins with 250K on it; as 1Ags said, the engine is great but all of the other stuff is ok at best. I bought it new and expecting to get 300K on it and still do. That being said, i am not a fan of the new diesels, its just not the same, hence the reason for me keeping my current truck.

Sq16 does seem like the kind of guy to drive a Dodge truck.

The new Dodge's are GREAT! They are no longer behind in interior fit and finish. My first Dodge was a 1985 Prospector 1500. I have owned Dodge trucks in the following year models: 1985, 1994, 1997, 2006, 2011. The interiors are incredible these days and they are truly better built. The new Cummins is as good as it gets. I have owned one ford truck and one Chevy Suburban. both were good vehicles.

You can't go wrong with the New Ram nor the New Ford. Get the one you like and you will be happy. My brother has the new 2011 F250 KR and loves it.

Good Luck to you and enjoy your new ride..

I'm going to have to go drive both of them again, if it was a matter of 3-4K I would probably get the Ford in a hearbeat, but the difference is almost double that, and like I said I actually like the interior of the Dodge better, which is something I never thought I would say.

I have a local Ford dealer contact if you decide to go blue oval.

I've had a 04.5 5.9L and I have a 08 6.7L dodge.

It depends on how it will be used... If you want something to drive like a commuter car and work every now and then >> Get the Ford.

If you actually work the truck and tow often. get the Dodge and put the DPF/EGR Delete on it >> You will get better performance - and Mileage out of it.

If you really like it better, you can always buy the extended warranty and pocket the difference.

I seriously doubt you'll have $3K-$4k worth of work done on the Dodge, over the Ford, within the first 150,000 miles.

This is how I feel about my Dakota. I realize these trucks are leagues different, but that's been my experience.
