Know plenty about cars, but never had this issue before. My rear pinion seal is leaking pretty good (drip stains under car are fresh everywhere I park, not a lot, but it's obviously dripping constantly & has been doing it for a while).

Under warranty, part finally came in, but I can't get to the dealer until Monday. Should I have the rear differential topped off and drive it to the game or park it? Had it topped off last Monday at the oil change place as well. No noticeable change in driving right now. I know they can get messy because the lube is being thrown around in there from the gears....

I'm driving in from Dallas btw, and just got back from a trip to Houston where it was fine.

I wouldn't drive it anywhere other than the dealer.

Yea, well appears my front differential is now leaking too. Just crawled under it to check it out. ****ing Chevy.

I wouldn't know how to drive a Chevy that wasn't leaking something somewhere.

Why is a 2009 leaking anything anywhere?

That's what I want to know, but obviously after putting 30,000 miles on it in a year highway and off road, I've discovered that Tahoes aren't made for the deer lease & getting out to oil wells.

Drive shaft is leaking on both ends - rear pinion and front shaft, can't remember the proper name. Not too pleased right now.....

Pinion seal falls under Powertrain Warranty - you should be good for 5 years/100k to get it fixed.

Could this void the warranty?

You're right, 26" rims don't help. It's a good thing I have stock 18" rims on mine with A/T tires on it......
