That church never stood a chance against that fire. There could have been a fire house next door and they could not have saved it. Thoughts and prayers for all of the good people around Westphalia, The church was the center piece of that community and it will be hard to replace it.

That church and its people are the heart of the community. I remember going to the fall festivals as a child back in the 50s. The entire state lost a treasure, but it is terrible for the people of the ocmmunity. So many of my "kids" when I lived and taught in the area were baptized, confirmed, and married there. A few even were honored there in funerals. So sad to see it go.
