Part-time teaching positions available in Latin, Spanish, English, Science, and 6th grade math.

Providence Preparatory School is an interdenominational Christian, classical, and collaborative school founded in 2010 in Belton, Texas that serves 325 students in Pre-K through 12th grades. Our purpose is to nurture life-long learners by providing a rigorous Christ-centered, Classical education, empowering our students to enjoy God and appreciate the truth, goodness, and beauty in His world. Our blended-schedule approach combines the best elements of the traditional classroom with the best elements of homeschooling, providing our students with a high level of both independence and parental involvement. Providence students attend class two to three days per week with professional faculty and then study at home under the tutelage of a parent co-teacher two to three days per week. Providence is accredited through the Association of Classical and Christian Schools and Texas Private School Accreditation Commission.

Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree.

Among other characteristics, we are looking for a teacher who:

  • seeks out opportunities to grow in knowledge, classical pedagogy, and the liberal arts, modeling a self-motivated reverence for life-long learning. This teacher designs lesson plans and activities that encourage inquisitiveness and love of learning in students.
  • regards students as godly image-bearers, consistently demonstrating regard for individual students in relation to dignity, learning styles, and unique abilities.
  • upholds the Bible and the Christian worldview as the ultimate source of knowledge, goodness, beauty, and truth. When relevant, the teacher guides students towards relating each subject or lesson to God's truth and examples in Scripture.
  • approaches educational opportunities with enthusiasm and awe, maintaining good stewardship of educational time, and impressing upon students a reverence for education that lays the foundation for lifelong learning.
  • is interested in working part-time.

We're looking for a "natural" teacher who loves teaching with a deep-seated, can't-be-contained enthusiasm, who will be energized by our Christian, collaborative, and classical approach to education.

Each class is roughly 50 minutes long and meets on the campus days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. These classes will be scheduled between 8:15 and 3:30. On Mondays and Wednesdays, "home days" according to our collaborative schedule, teachers are not required to be on campus, although they are required to be available to help students via phone during 90-minute "virtual office hours," scheduled at the teacher's convenience. All faculty members are expected to fully engaged in the life and mission of the school, in and out of the classroom.

This position is part-time. Excluding additional duty and faculty meeting time, this secondary teacher can expect 50-minute periods of active work, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Interested candidates should forward a cover letter and resume by email to info@provprep.org.

Providence Preparatory School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admission, financial aid or employment policies, or any other programs administered by the school.

To be honest, we're not sure we want our own campus. Since we only need a building 3 days a week, we think stewardship requires a shared space. We have loved sharing space with FBC Belton for our first decade, and we are hopeful we could move with them to their new campus for our second decade. Or, if we had a benefactor who gave us land or a lead gift, we could then build something and then share with a church as well.
