Staying over in Morgan, Tx at a VRBO - thought about renting a pontoon?

Or just find a good swimming hole to jump in for a few hours? - 4 couples - early 30s; nothing too crazy.

anyone have pontoon rental connections?

Really don't need a pontoon unless you want to cruise around.

There is not a bad place to swim on the lower part of the lake. There are lots of nooks and coves along the Bosque County side between the dam and King Creek. Water is very deep and clear along there.
If you want a beach there is Lofers Day Use Park on the Hill County(North) side of the dam.

Then there is cliff jumping.

there are the cliffs at Soldiers Bluff on the Bosque County side (South) of the dam and Walling Bend park (mouth of Big Rocky Creek).

Enjoy.

Yeah, I've rented from Uncle Gus's before....they have a nice little operation.

And agree on Lofer's Bend for swimming...but if he's near Morgan, he's waaaaaaaaaaay far away from Lofer's Bend and Uncle Gus's I believe.

I'm not sure what's on that side of the lake. Steele Creek Park is over there, but I don't know a lot about it.

Here you go holmes, here's some info on Steele Creek Park...may want to see where you are going to be near:

I believe Cedron Creek Park is up there somewhere too...but you have to be launching a boat to get in:

If he is renting a pontoon he will be on the lower end of the lake. It would take a tank of gas to get to Steele Creek and back. It's not close to the rentals. If you drive over from Morgan it's okay if you stay on the Red Bluff side (open lake side). You will be right across the where the house fell into the lake at White Bluff.

It's the one on the left.

However, there are questionable characters in there lots of times beings though it's a free park open 24/7.

Cedron has a nice big gravel swim beach. The view of the big bluffs at Cedar Shores is nice. It's still a haul from Big Rocky.

Personally, If I were coming from Morgan, I'd use the day use park at McCown Valley.

I worked on that lake for about 15 years as Park Ranger with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Again, Enjoy!
