Just thought I'd throw this out there... If anyone has any "baby stuff" they want to get rid of, we just found out we are having twins and we would love to save some pennies where we can

Boys or girls? What do you need?

I have a double stroller. Bought it for $20 at a garage sale 9 months ago. It doesn't look like too hot but it works great. We should be done with it in next 6 months or so, once baby turns 1 in may and graduates to single stroller and our 3 year old quits acting like a baby. Lol

let me talk to the boss and make sure she wants to get rid of it, and you are welcome to it.

ETA: also boys or girls, we have stuff for both. We will probably have a lot of clothes and other stuff I am more than happy to let you pick through before we donate to women/baby center.

These are our first and we just found out so we literally have nothing. Honestly, I don't even know what we need, but I'll speak with the boss lady and get back to ya. Thanks for responding!

I have a bathing thingy for infants I never used (bought at target). Also a car seat click in base but I'd have to check the brand (that damn thing was $40 by itself) and I'll look in the attic for more. I have a grandson so I had to have my own set of certain things but it is so expensive and I'm cautious to sell anything because ya never know when you'll need it again. I have friends that have twins and have found phenomenal deals on Craigslist, etc for high end strollers and such. Keep in mind, around this area, when military families move, they just need to get rid of excess so it's resold for cheap. I bought some of my stuff on private Facebook resale pages. Car seats are tough because they expire. I'll ask my friends for advice where they bought online but they are retired military so that might have been the connection. Congratulations!

If on face book, join the garage sale groups and buy/sale/ad group for your county, city. It will clog up your feed but people post a ton of stuff on there. You can usually find good deals. We just bought a trundle bed for our 3yr old on the McLennan county page for $50. Needed some repairs but nothing a couple of screws and wood glue wouldn't fix.

Start garage saleing on your free Saturday mornings. And grabbing stuff. You'll need more than you can imagine for 1 kiddo, I can't comprehend twins.

Also, pampers and huggies diapers have rewards programs. Pampers is better rewards option in our opinion (easier process and better reward items). Start buying diapers now, and buy in different stages and just store them up. They are expensive, so buying a couple cases a month really helps out once the kiddos come. You'll get a ton of them at baby showers, so don't open them all at once. Most stores have really good return/exchange policies where you can take in a package of newborn diapers and exchange for stage 1, even swap.

And congrats btw! Kids are awesome.

If people offer to throw you a shower and ypu have any input request that it be a diaper shower. That's what we were offered with our second child and we literally did not have to purchase a diaper for the 1st year of his life.

Yeah my son and his girlfriend didn't have to buy wipes for a year. It was crazy. Not sure if you have family members in town but they'll need their own supplies too. That's why I bought most of my stuff second hand. Except the pac an play. Target runs baby deals a few times a year. That combined with my red card saved a lot of money. Also, smarty pants children's consignment in Temple is good. Girls that work there can be a bit over the top but they have quality items for sale.

We were in the same place as you all 4.5 years ago. Decided to have a kid and one month later two are on the way. I would be more than happy to answer any question you have, but get your rest now. It is all hands on deck for the first year of their life.

Things you need two or more of:

Carriers/Car Seat
Cribs
Diapers
Lil Helper Bottle Holders (You will thank me later when you don't both have to feed the kids and they can do it themselves)

That is pretty much it. My kids, a boy and a girl, share pretty much everything else. It is all community property and it makes them better people when they get to preschool. There is no mine in our house and they go through stuff so quickly you can't afford to buy two of everything.

Take care of your wife and spend the money on a high risk specialist. You are going to max out your deductible anyways and they will catch stuff that the regular doctor would miss. We almost didn't do it, but they stopped my wife from having the kids to early. After 100 days of bed rest, we took home our kids with no NICU time. We didn't know it at the time but we had a less than 5% chance of them making it when it was first caught.

Good news your wife will be eligible to join the Texas Mothers of Multiples. The wife and i were where you are now 10 years ago, we started trying for one but God Bless use with two beautiful girls. Congrats on the twins. Just a little advise my mother gave my wife, when one wake up to be feed at 2am wake the other and feed them both you get them synchronized on the feedings. My mom knew what she was talking about from me and my twin brother. My girls are fraternal twins and my brother and I are identical, do you know if they are girls or boys yet or one of each?

We are currently at 10 weeks so we won't know for a while. We keep hearing that advice, so it must be gold.

I think we found out with some degree of certainty about 16 weeks but I keep asking the doctor at every visit " you sure it's going to be two girls".

We found out for sure at 16 weeks. At 12 weeks at the specialist, they were 100% sure that Baby A was a boy and thought Baby B was a girl but couldn't confirm. At 14 weeks, the OBGYN was 100% sure that Baby B was a boy and thought Baby A was a girl but couldn't confirm. At 16 weeks, we were prepared to be told that both were boys. Baby A was a boy and Baby B was a girl. I guess there is a reason that they won't commit until 16 weeks.

Good for you. You will love it. We did and still do.

It is...a challenge. Mine would go to the others class in high school and pull it off. Both went to Aggieland--I would have locked them in a cellar had they wanted to go elsewhere.

Our identical boys are now 30. The time races. I wish we had used a journal and written down the hilarious things they--and all kids--said. We blew that, but you might consider documenting their outrageous statements. We regret not doing so.

I would bet that within a week you will be able to tell them apart by their coughing, their laughter. We could. Others spent years mixing them up.

My wife having twins? No more kids for her since the chances of another sett of twins is higher if your first are twins, or so the doc at Baylor told us--that was enough for both of us, whether he was right or wrong.

Okay, "we" are not having twins. Your wife is. Yeah, just kidding. You did your part. Did not mind it a bit, I reckon.

We had twins 26 years ago, so we don't have any stuff left, so I can only offer support.

As I said, our's were born 26 years ago (one of each) and they continue to be wonderful.

You will survive.

I would advise that you set up a pile of DVDs (or get Netflix) etc. for the middle-of-the-night feedings. And the other advice I'd offer is that since you have two, you will be involved at some point. You can't leave it to your wife to take care of that stuff. It definitely takes a partnership. All the way through.
