Nothing yet. The current work is modifying the floodplain (presumably to make more of the property usable for a potential buyer).

Any idea how long adams will be one lane (eastbound) by Walmart? This really makes morning traffic unpleasant

On a traffic note, I go to a church small group meeting at five thirty on Wednesdays in north Temple near the new elementary. I found a really quick way to get there. I now turn right, not left on 2305, go to the light that used to be Hilliard road, turn north. One light to cross Gatesville highway, stay on it with zero traffic till I get to industrial,, then go east on industrial to the light at third street. Takes me under fifteen minutes. Slight risk of a train, but that has only happened once or twice in a year. Right at five, going the other way, turning left toward the loop, dealing with traffic, takes 25 or more.

Just wait until the wal-mart opens. All day traffic will be unpleasant.

West Adams is gonna be unbearable

Nice neighborhoods out there, but getting to work, school, and back home is gonna be an absolute nightmare for people who live there

Gotta get flyovers.

Hell, they need to extend a freeway from Temple to Belton. 317 is gonna get worse by the day

Will never happen. Would cost a fortune

Infrastructure is simply not ready for that kind of growth

Well that's boring. I really try to avoid that area. With the traffic and no other reason to go that way except my hair stylist, it gets easier and easier to do. there's not any other reason to go. No shopping and no restaurants. I'm glad it's not a daily part of my commute. To avoid 35 from Belton to temple, I find myself taking charter oak. Oh, and the 317 construction in Belton at the lake rd intersection derailed my short cut to the bank and Beal. Now there's a median and I can't turn left onto estate Dr when coming out of the theatre/Jack in the box rd.

unfortunately and for the foreseeable future, while we live in the historic district, but keep our kids in BISD, it will be an every day part of my commute. It's not bad from a distance perspective. it's really only 8 miles there and back to our kids' school, but until they fix something we're going to have to consider something different.

I doubt it will be that bad. Looks like walmart will have a new lane for turning in. If you are coming eastbound to get to the loop, you are SOL and have to sit in the traffic. If going all the way downtown, I agree with 3rd Gen about using Hillard. I take Adams > Hillard > 53 > Central. Adds about a mile but there is less traffic, higher limits, and fewer lights all the way to the Interstate. It also seems like I time the lights more often as well.

I think it takes about the same amount of time, but it keeps me from pulling my hair out.

What's the completion date of the Walmart? I was through there the other day and while it had come along it appeared to have quite a bit to go.

Here's a solution. Have you're kid go to TISD.

No happening. Not for the elementary we're zoned for.

So 2305 is getting an in&out burger and whataburger?

I saw tons of cars there and noticed the light today.

The front doors had paper taped up so I imagine they're moving product in now.

Lot of gangs at Jefferson?

But really, will TISD not allow you to transfer to Kennedy-Powell?

honestly, there is some bad environments at Jefferson i've seen first hand. i can live with that. there were bad environments at Pirtle and we loved it there. there is an outside event that i just don't want my kids to be there because of as well. has nothing to do with the demographics of the school.

i think they could go to Kennedy Powell and i wouldn't mind it. i hear nothing but good stuff from there.

we're actually moving to homeschool next year because my job involves so much travel and having to get them to and from school just takes away a lot of time that i can be with them. i want them to be able to travel and go see a lot of the state that i never got to see at that age and this gives them a good opportunity in that.

I am not that familiar with the plans but txdot is widening 317. Also old Waco is going to continue to get widened heading south to belton and eventually on to I35...

Old Waco all the way to 35 would help traffic a good amount.

New store is open and I almost went today just to check it out.

They need to extend the Lake Road to I-35

Sparta would be better but there's a damn HEB in the way

As it is, there is NO good way from North Belton to Temple

Extending the Lake Road to I-35 would cut drive time to Temple in half

I had to go to college station today. So I go 190 to NB35. As soon as I pass the 6th Ave exit in Belton, there's a sign that says "highway closed in 2 miles". Crap, I think to myself, I hope I can make it to the midway exit, I don't have time for this. I did make it right before NB35 traffic was stopped. That traffic was forced take the loop exit, but thankfully DPS controlled the flow onto the service rd. I finally made it to the light for a quick stop at Target and they were allowing traffic back on NB35 at the next entrance ramp. But as I'm leaving target to get on the loop towards the mall, DPS blocks the service road and entrance ramp where they were previously letting cars back on. WTH was going on?

And when did they close the university dr exit on hwy 6?

They could go in front of the CVS, and cut through the neighborhood

Or go a block north and extend River Fair/Guthrie

It could be done. It should be done

Kiella is putting in a retail/residential development on pea ridge. The old Waco rd expansion makes more sense.

Went to the new store today.

New WEST TEMPLE WALMART. I finally made a visit there after church. It will be nice to have something so close, but where did all those people come from? I thought they were crazy building a second one in Temple with the nice store in Belton so close also. It seems to be upscale if that can be applied to Walmart, compared to the 31 street store. And for now, there were many checklines open so only the wait for one person and many people in the shelf area to help. I am tired because I walked the entire store to try to get a mental map of where things were. I wish they would hand out a store map when you go in. There are a few negative, and the Belton HEB is going to stay my main shopping spot.

but first a BIG POSITIVE. THEY HAD PUMPKIN SPICE COFFEE CREAMER....... HEAVEn

First, for those who care, this one does not seem to have an extended hour bank. The Credit Union that is in there was closed this afternoon. And there was no eatery of any kind for people used to having something in a Walmart.

Second, for me, there are a few things that will keep me going to HEB in Belton most of the time. They did not carry Community Coffee for Keurik if at all. I love the HEB brand coffees and the community coffee with chicory. That alone will keep be in Belton since coffee is a food group at my house. If their store brand things are good, then they need someone giving samples because I am not risking spending money on things I don't like. That is how HEB has often shown me I like their products. If they had a few of my comfort foods, I could not find them.

They also had a very limied EVOL choice, my second favorite frozen meal, because most had chicken in them. And they don't carry Price's at all. Both of those have to get at TARGET. So while it would be nice to have one stop shopping to save time and gasoline, it is not going to happen.

They likely came from Belton, or as I suspected, shopped within their own zip code. The Belton wal-mart was dead today, which is heaven to me.
