Yep. Colorado Bend State Park, if there's water in the river.

Actually, I guess CB State Park is about an hour and a half from Temple.

But there's white bass in Lake Belton. Just find you a cove and start chunking. Rogers Park near Morgans Point would probably be perfect, and there are definitely wind/wave protected coves around the Hwy 36 bridge

Also, I highly recommend fly fishing for Guadalupe Bass at South Llano River State Park in Junction

Continuing my stream of consciousness, there are rainbows in Nolan Creek behind belton city hall right now. There is an excellent lawn area for fly fishing. Better get out there though. Heavy rain will send them all downstream...

No s? I have seen large carp, but no trout. Stocked rainbows?

Yep. They stock Nolan Creek twice a year - usually December and February.

Stocked it last week (Friday I think)

But like I said, watch the weather. Any decent rain will wash them out. And rain is in the forecast for later in the week...

I have never fly fished for whites but I have fly fished. I would check out Rogers park, there are accessible protected areas out there that would be good fly fishing spots. Wade out or stand on the bank. But really, the Colorado River at ColoBendSP is very popular for White bass fishing, but the water is probably low as hell right now...

Middle Bosque Access is at the end of Barnett Rd on Map A. South Bosque access is off several locations aouth of Highway 84.
Good Luck!

Just went to Colorado Bend State Park this weekend. The river is as low as I've ever seen it and I've been fishing it for close to 20 years. I could have walked off the boat ramp clear across the river and never had water above my waist. It's that low. Whites aren't running in the river yet. Still probably 2-3 weeks too early.

If they don't get heavy rain west of I-35 soon, the western 2/3 of the state is in deep sh/t...
