I have a coworker who is getting transferred to Corpus and he's looking for neighborhoods there. Any recommendations on neighborhoods and realtors? He's looking into neighborhoods in the same category (or better) as castlegate/pebble creek. Thanks for your help

Does your co-worker have kids? If so, Lamar Park or Bessar Park. The Lakes are OK, but kinda like Plano.

If your co-worker is single or does not have kids, I have a wonderful house for sale on Ohio Ave between Santa Fe and Ocean. Small house (1900 Ft) with a great guest house (500 Ft.). This is one of the best streets in Corpus...2 houses down fron Ed Hartes home...doctors, attorneys, nice people.

I can also recommend some good realtors.

I second anything around Yorktown and Everhart. I live in that area and so do my roomates families. It is a nice area and is growing.

Don't overlook the Calallen area. There's several neighborhoods with 200-500K+ houses going in now. Great schools.

Calallen is not really Corpus. It's like it's own little hickville out there on the outskirts of town. If you want anything you have to come into CC to get it.

But Calallen ISD is the 2nd best school district in the city, behind Flour Bluff ISD, where the Island kids go.

Thanks God for the Flour Bluff HEB...its lookin good....I hope it is like the one in town. I get a feeling that the Bluff Rats will keep it from getting great.

I do love the New Stripes at Whitecap....actually not bad veggies and meat. The old one smells like arse.

The Taliban Market...funny. Yes, I have been there a few times. It's overpriced, shocking, but has more stuff than the new Stripes and a LOT closer than HEB.

We grilled some of the steaks from the new Stripes and they are pretty good; I also like the "Beer Cave" they have. Sometimes I'll just stand in there for a few minutes admiring the concept, as well as cooling down.

I think you are right when you say that the Bluff HEB+ will become Bluffed-out in a matter of time. That's a shame since it's going to be a nice store and not all BluffRats are white trash. Some of us actually like nice things, which is why I live in town now.

Yeah, right....go to Flour Bluff if you want your kids to grow their hair out and take to the gonja. Go to Calallen or Tuloso if you want your kids to get jobs. That is all, good day to you sirs.

The Flour Bluff HEB should be a mandatory stop for everyone visiting the area. I admire the demographic range represented in that store. You'll have some meth addict chick with her boobs hanging out standing in line next to a trophy wife with her fake rack hanging out.

Hickville? Please. Calallen is a decent area outside the city. Good schools and sports teams that beat all of the other teams in the area.

You might feel out of place if you don't have crooked teeth and move to the bluff anyway.

Seeing as the Bluff's JROTC program has been kicking ass for over 10 years, I think there might be some people in the Bluff with some motivation and discipline.

If you are looking for a new home builder, the best is Terrell Pruett, Aggie Class '80. Builds all over Corpus, Portland, the island, but mainly King's Crossing.

As a Bluff Rat I need to point out two things:

1. Rodd Field Road is not in The Bluff.
B. If we could afford homes like those built in Kings Crossing, we wouldn't be living in The Bluff.

There's a reason houses in the Bluff cost half of what they do elsewhere...
