I am moving to Galveston to start a new job, any suggestions for nice apts or condos?

We use to live at Lakeside at Campeche, near the west end of Seawall. We had a large two bedroom, two bathroom apartment for $650/month. We liked living there.

If you're looking in a higher price range, there are many beautiful condos in Galveston that overlook the water.

Before you sign a lease, make sure you ask the apartment manager if they are a Section 8 housing complex. Many complexes in Galveston are so they have the steady guberment subsidy check coming in. If so, look elsewhere. You will have all kind of riff-raft walking the complex at all hours and things will begin to disappear.

I used to live at Lakeside. I never had a problem. Although right after I moved there was a rash of smash and grabs. They found out it was teenagers from the nextdoor complex.

What part of the island are you working?

I am going to be working on the east end of the island, but if it is nicer to live on the west side I will be willing to live over there. Do ya'll have any preferences to which side of the island is nicer?

try fish village and some of the apartments around tumb. there are some pretty good places to live on the east end. tons of section 8 further down the island.
