I have blurry memories of being there in high school for some rowdy beach parties, but has anyone camped there recently? How is it?

Thinking about doing some birding in Anahuac and wanted to tie in a camping experience.

You can camp on the beach for as long as u want, all u need is a $10 beach parking permit sticker on your windshield. Campfire is allowed as well.
