Finished up at Redfish Inn at Surfside. Good, but not as good as the others.
Staying at Bluewater RV just south of San Luis Pass. Nice place, new. Way away from anything, but can walk to beach, or Kayak to bay. Pool, WiFi, cable.

Will have to try all your suggestions thanks !!

I think you are referring to the Red Snapper Inn. This would have been my suggestion but my travel up and down the coast is minimal. I grew up around Surfside so Red Snapper Inn was it.

Red snapper inn in surfside is def good, but one of the best burgers I ever had was from kittys purple cow which closed recently.

While I'm a big fan of Topwater Grill it hardly qualifies as a hole-in-the-wall place as the OP requested. On the other hand, Gilhooley's just down the road....

No, but we did notice it on last trip for first time. Plan to hit that one next week.

Been living in Crystal Beach for last two years and I will say that the Stingaree is an amazing place. Very well run with a great menu. Right on the intercoastal canal with fabulous views out over Galveston Bay and sunsets to die for. Check it out!
