Every summer my in-laws rent a house on the island for the family and each year I try to find new things to do with the kids.

I was looking at the Galveston website and saw Mayfield Manor haunted house and this Pirate thing. This is the first time I've noticed them, so I think they're petty new. They both look pretty cheesy but was wondering if they are at all entertaining. Anyone know more about them? Would 13 & 14 year old girls like them?

So, to anyone interested...

We went to Mayfield Manor last Thursday and it's in the old Bass Outlet building. As expected, it is a cheesy haunted house with a fictional story revolving around the 1900 hurricane. I went with my bro-in-law, his 12 year old girl and my 13 year old girl. We went about 4pm and where the only ones in our group. Takes only about 15 to 20 minutes. Scared the crap out of the girls. My daughter held me with a death grip and kept screaming that she wanted out. Once out the door, she said "Let's do that again!"

Pirate thing is in the same building and I heard the guy at the desk tell some people it's a self guide tour. Not sure if they really have anything of value or if it's just a bunch of story boards.
