I'm looking at taking my family to Corpus for a night. My 2 year old has never been to the beach and we want to spend a full day there. I've been to Corpus a fair share of times, but I need some input on hotels.

My initial thoughts are staying out at the Holiday Inn on Mustang Island. It's right on the beach and it seems to be nice. But for $50 cheaper, we could stay in Corpus on the beach. The Best Western Marina Grand Hotel, for example. Does anyone have any thoughts or insights as to where we should stay?

We want to spend as much time as possible at the beach. That's the goal of the trip.

I think you should think of it this way for only 50 dollars more you get to stay on mustang island... I wouldn't stay on the Corpus Christi Beach.

I'm from CC. Lived in Flour Bluff a few years and that was 15 mins from Padre. I would spend the $$ to get closer to Padre Island.

Yeah, stay on the island.

Holiday inn, the beach in front of it is kept in decent condition. The rest of the beach, not so much.
