How long do you want to ignore this user?
So I'm kinda new to fishing, I've bought some stuff to wade fish and I'm having a good time (though I haven't caught a thing). Well my girlfriend wants to come fish with me but won't wade out. So I'm thinking about joining the folks who are fishing off of Pelican Island. What kind of tackle do I need to fish from the shore. The people I see usually have more than one pole, and have them all cast out and are sitting around watching the bobbers or something. any help is appreciated

I've never done that so can't say exactly how they're doing it (probably regular saltwater tackle with live shrimp under a popping cork) but go post this on the Outdoors board and you will most certainly get lots of good advice for bank fishing in Galveston Bay. Good luck to you however you wind up doing it.

Good luck and enjoy the learning experience. Don't get too frustrated if you have a slow learning curve. Galveston is not exactly the Florida Keys.

Do be careful though. Wade fishing can be very dangerous. Getting hit by a stingray would be a tramatic experience and if you are wading near natural passes you have to respect currents and under tows.
