I'm looking to take a little time away for a few days with my wife on the Gulf Coast and am wondering where to go.

I'll take the kids to the grandparents so it will just be the two of us. I don't want to be around a big crowd. I'd prefer to not have to drive all the way to Padre if I can avoid it. (We live in BCS so that extra 2.5 hour drive doesn't sound too appealing.)

Head to Galveston and stay at the San Luis.

What do you guys like to do?

For avoiding crowds I suggest Rockport with taking the ferry out to Port A for a day on the Gulf side.

Checkout the Lighthouse Inn or Hoopes House for a B&B.
