I am currently working on getting my teaching certification (already have a BA from A&M College Station) and I am applying for teaching jobs in and around Corpus Christi. Does anyone have any connections they might be able to send my way? I'm afraid of being lost in the shuffle by just submitting my application normally through HR and online like most ISD's require. I am looking for a high school teaching position in English.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Are you just limited to Corpus? Have you thought about applying to Rockport-Fulton High School? It is a great little town on the coast of about 10k & about a 40 minute drive to Corpus. I know that they will be looking to hire as well, do not know about the position you are looking for though. Just wanted to give you another option...

Flour Bluff ISD
Calallen ISD
Gregory-Portland ISD
Rockport-Fulton ISD
Tuloso-Midway ISD
Aransas Pass ISD
Ingleside ISD

These are all 3A or higher high schools that I'd work for before I'd work for CCISD.

Rockport-Fulton is Aransas County ISD.

I have applied to all of the above mentioned schools.

Peter Gibbons, could you expand on why you'd rather teach at those ISD's before CCISD? I'm interested in getting all of the opinions that I can. Thanks!

Yes, you are correct. My bad. R-F is Aransas ISD.

Flour Bluff, Calallen, GP, R-F, AP, and Ingleside are all their own independent school districts. Basically, one school from K-12. CCISD has 5 high school, numerous junior highs, and even more elementary schools.

Flour Bluff is one of the best academic schools in South Texas if not the entire state. I just know the academic reputations of the area schools and if you check with TEA you'll find out that the best academic, recognized schools in the area are Flour Bluff, Calallen, and Gregory-Portland. None of the CCISD high schools made the list.

Peter,

Only reason I remember is because I looked into teaching there. I always thought it was part of whatever district G-P was in.
