Anyone? Bueller? Frye?

my husband and i have gone a few times but aren't members. we normally go to the 10:00 AM service on Sunday and quite a few people i work with go there as well. the music is a little too much like being at a rock conert for us, but we really, really like the message given each week.

I started going a couple weeks ago and really like it. I was skeptical at first but when I actually went, I really enjoyed it.

I go to the 10am service, too, and went to First Wednesday last week. I actually like the music and Bil's message is really great, too.

I was expecting all sorts of fanfare, and there is some, but the message is what counts and it's been really good.

Have a buddy who works there. Not what I'd call a church, more like a self-help seminar, but that's just me.

Peter, have you joined a hometeam? My husband and I were thinking about it because we are fairly new to Corpus and don't really know too many people here. I have no idea how the hometeams work, age groups, scheduled, etc.

No, I sure haven't. I just recently started attending and haven't taken the opportunity to look further into the Hometeams but I was considering attending/joining one. I've also considered joining the BAF Men's fellowship. I know one of the Pastors there and think I'll speak with him about what the different fellowships are all about and which one(s) would be best for me.

I'll let you know what i find out.

I don't know if you were at the 10am service, but it was awesome!!!

My g/f mom is a hometeam leader for them. Everything I hear is they are trying to ways to get youths to join and incorporate surfing into church...which is a little much for me. I can understand trying to breakthrough but not to the extent where church isn't church anymore

My old girlfriend got me to go when I first moved to Corpus. (when it was on SPID near Ennis Joslin). We broke up, and I joined a home team for a while because there were 3 GREAT lookin girls in that particular group.....one of which became my next girlfriend. (Not really the reason you should join....but I did anyway.) I soon realized that everyone I met there was in it because they were lonely, wanted to hook up, dissatisfied, and/or unhappy. I think Bil Cornelius does a nice job, but I eventually realized that it was no place for a good Catholic boy. I found something inherently strange about a bunch or the parishoners....although some were very nice.

They are building a church around the corner from me on the Island. Should be interesting with all of the sinners out here.
