I have a friend from Orange who told me their house was mostly ok - it was on higher ground. Said the houses near the river and bayou didn't fare so well. She sent me this link...

I'm from orange & my dad stayed at our house. there is still no power at the house, but some areas have it on...the hospital & rose lawn do for sure & some houses in my neighborhood do. the water is pretty much gone, but stuff is still laying everywhere.

the entrance of our neighborhood is on kogt, its the 1 w/the castle looking tower in it.

I'm just outside of Orange near Mauriceville. We got power back on yesterday. Orange is slowly getting power back. Gas stations, fast food, grocery stores are beginning to re-open in some parts. Schools look to resume some time next week.

My mother in law just went back today. She lives close to Sunset Grove country club and doesn't have power, but her daughter lives just west of town, south of I-10, (Burton Road area) and the power came on around 1pm.

My mother in law's neighbor two houses down didn't get any water inside the house, which is surprising after looking at those photos of 16th street.

That's all we know at the moment.

According to Entergy energy's website 100% power should be restored to Orange by 9/21.

All of my relatives in Bridge City got flooded. I think my cousin in Orangefield made it through okay, though.

My Uncle got a call from somebody yesterday saying their power was back on and from what they could see looking in thew windows, it looked like his home had about two feet of mud in it.
My Uncle was evidently not convinced that this person could really see in the house and the Sheriff said he would roll by today and give him a better reeport...by better, I think my Unlce means, somebody he...has more confidence in.

dad got power last night!

My family folks got back yesterday...bout a ft of water got in the house, but no mud.

I was in Bridge City all last week. Not much wind damage but you can definately see how much water there was. Bridge City got power Wed. and mid-county should have it by now.
