I know some people with a house in Sea Isle (west of Jamaica Beach). I've been searching web pages trying to get some photos of that area with very little luck. Anybody seen any photos or maybe even been by there yet in person?

Good luck to you all that are down there trying to clean up and rebuild.

From my understanding, if it wasn't behind the seawall it is pretty much gone both East and West.

There is something going on on the west side of the island....the mayor instituded a look and leave from noon-6pm, but said that people would not be allowed on the west end of the island.

She also ordered all city personel not to talk to the media. Nor is she allowing media to fly over the area.

Saw some stuff on their web page from Point West...the last thing on the west end before the bridge. It seems to have done remarkably well. A little shocking considering the damage not far up the road towards the east.

The sateliite images of Jamaica Beach look encouraging. Even the structures on the beach-side of 3005 are still standing.

For those that are interested,

Google earth has updated the Texas coast with the NOAA Damage overlays.
It is much easier to navigate than the NOAA site
