The entire city doesn't have electricity. Most of the news media is making their reports from Galveston on cell phones. Things seem pretty bad down there.
well..Houston has had at least 2 press conferences without power. You'd think the city would have a generator or two and be prepared to alert the citizens that listened and evacuated.
I think the press conference is scheduled for 2 pm from Lyda-Ann Thomas. She was pretty upset, evidently in tears this morning when she saw the destruction to her city.
All in all, this was the "100 year storm" we were avoiding and Galveston seemed to hold up semi-decently. Granted, all the footage we've seen is from the ground near the San Louis.
