I am going to be at a beach house in Galveston this weekend that has "cable.". What are my chances that it will have Versus so that I can watch the Ags? If not, where is a good place in Galveston to watch the game? Thanks.

Busker's downtown will have it. It's on postoffice between 20th and 21st I think. Most of the other bars will probably have it, but it's a matter of the bartender being able to find versus. Comcast in Galveston has versus if that's what your place has.
Versus is channel 49 on cable. It is part of the extended basic lineup along with ESPN, The Weather Channel, etc.
Comcast doesnt service some of the hoods on the west end. And I do not believe Versus is in the basic package on DISH.
But if the place has CommunistCast, you will be fine. If not head to Buskers as sugested or maybe Slices.

O'Malleys is where I would go. It is across the street from Buskers. Take a peek in both places and see what atmosphere appeals to you. Both are okay. O'Malleys has some pretty good sandwiches though.
Buskers is good, Molly's is two doors down and really good dark and seedy place to head once we really start getting our asses kicked and you're ready to really start drinking.
The Press Box will have it, too. Not the best of places but they're Aggie fans. Buskers, O'Malleys are the best bets. I avoid Float like the plague and Hooter's food is...well, I don't go there for food.
