These models get updated every 9-12 hours, this is most recent. The Natl Hurricane Center model (NHC) is always the slowest to represent track changes so be aware that most other reliable models are pushing this now to Corpus.

Thanks for the updates! I figured it would be an active season for the Texas coast since my husband and I just bought a house in Corpus and that is the kind of luck we have. What category do you think it has time to develop to?

The "experts" are saying that the forward movement should slow down, allowing the system time to intensify. My totally uneducated guess is that it will be a weak Cat 2.

Agreed with Tex, Cat 2 at landfall would probably be a worst case scenario.

That is one models prediction of how the pressure gradients are goign to change in the next 48 hours.

That specific chart is showing the high pressure area that's currently over the Northern Gulf Coast to break down considerably aiding the storm in hitting a point further north, almost somewhere between Corpus and Freeport. That's just one interpretation of what could happen though.

We just moved here too so it figures. Wife just got back from HEB and said it was crazy. I don't know hurricanes, but seems like people are a little fear driven for just a cat2.

HEB was a nightmare. I had to pick up a few things that I needed before this whole hurricane business, and people were pushing each other out of the way to get 24 packs of water. The poor stocker guys couldn't get the pallets on the floor fast enough!

I understand that it was even worse that last year during that water impurity crisis...

we lost everything in rita. big cat 2 or higher, we`re outta here. We evacuated with 2 cats, insurance papers, and photo albums. 1 more of those and we`re moving to milwaukee !

...and Yankees.

didnt think about the yankee angle. May have to reconsider and look at Albuquerque.
