Any recommendations on nice places to stay in Port Aransas?

Would like to take wife & son to the beach - looking for a condo to rent over a long weekend.

Port Royal, while not exactly IN Port A, is nice, has an amazing pool, and is right on the beach.

I would also recommend Port Royal. It's pretty nice, right on the beach and >10 minutes from Port A.

We've stayed here a couple times and really enjoyed it. Small pool but it's the closest property to the beach on the island.

Gulf Shores is right on the beach and has nice rooms. The staff is always very friendly. We'll be there in 12 days.

The beach at Port A was terrible this weekend. Since the tree huggers stopped the city from scraping up the seaweed and depositing it in the dunes, it just stacks up and the surf was disgusting. They clean a little section every so often and the rest just sits. In this scene that is seaweed you think is sand.

Horrible.

Anyone want to make restaurant suggestions for Port A - will be there for 1 week the first of August.

You should make it to Moby Dick's at least once. On the last night you are there, go to Trout Street. It's not overly expensive, but it isn't cheap. However, there is a great view of the channel and harbor, the food is excellent, and you will be well-served. They make a great steak, dude!
