I have never had a problem with jellyfish in the gulf, only in the bay. You will want to keep an eye open for man-of-war in the gulf though. Take some meat tenderizer along and make a paste out of it and rub it on the stings, if you get stung.

Seaweed should be up. It is always there in the spring and summer. Some of the beaches they drag with front end loaders to clear off the seaweed.

If you are staying at the state park, just give them a call about conditions at the park. 361/749-5246

The jellyfish/man-o-war aren't bad. The seaweed has been less, but just take a rake with you. I keep one in the back of my truck so every weekend I spend 5 minutes primping my sand and it's all good.

I was out there Sunday morning and there was lots of seaweed but as the man says, take a rake and the problem is solved.

Take some dog repellant as well.

hardly any jellyfish.

And the water was great.

Oh, and tent camping on the beach sucks.

hell, i've tent camped for years on the beach! You will just be sweaty always, sandy always, and windy always. Just another day in Corpus!

Nothing like laying down on a sleeping back covered in sand then waking up to a breakfast with 'grit' in everything.
