My husband and I are having a crawfish boil next weekend (if we can find them). Any suggestions on a place to get them live around Corpus?

Did you ever find any live crawfish? I need some for this weekend.

check out HEB Plus. they get a fresh shipment every Friday morning and are pretty big. $2.39/lb.

Thanks for the info. I actually called HEB Plus earlier in the week, and they said to call back on Friday to check on their weekend shipment.

I can get some at Morgan St. Seafood Market, but their shipment comes in today. I don't want to try to keep them alive until Saturday. I think I have a better chance of keeping them alive if I buy them on Friday evening.

I know it might be risky, but you could perhaps wait until Saturday to pick them up. Last time I asked the seafood department at HEB they said they get on average 400 pounds each Friday morning and that lasts them well into Sunday.

I called this morning, and they told me they should have plenty left on Saturday. He said they got about 600 lbs this morning.

An Ag coworker gets her Asian imported mud bug at HEB. She usually arrives at the store on Friday of shipment around 4pm. I understand that their shipments are of rather large quantities.

P.S. I have never asked the mudbugs if they are Asian, but most mud bug sold in grocery stores are imported from Asia.
