The CC Library has a website with historic photos of Corpus and the surrounding area. Lots of old Doc McGregor photos.

Pictures like this one of downtown, pre T-Heads & L-Head. The only problem is the Watermark.

There is a book that HEB use to sell with all the old photos of Corpus. That was a few years ago though.

Yes,There was a book called the "The History of Corpus Christi" it was around 42.00$ and was very good. It was a special order through the Caller Times. I grew up there as did my parents. It was and remains a wonderfull City. And a great place to raise a family.Gods Will to You All.

the Museum of Natural History has thousands of Doc McGregor photos, several hundred on public display. If you ask, they will let you in to see the rest. I loved the ones of old Leopard Street and the marina.

Also great: he loved taking pictures of oil field fires and would go back every day until they put them out.

Corpus is probably the best photoed city of its size in the country thanks to that guy.

Back in the 40's I would spend my summers at my uncle's ranch in Bruni. After supper we lads would lie down on sacks of corn on the back porch and listen to my uncle tell stories. If you looked to the east in a CC direction, you could see the glow of oil field fires.
