We're about to cut the cord with cable and go with a streaming service. So, I'm going to be getting an antenna. Does any one have any experience or recommendations? Do they work in the attic or do they have to be on my wall?

For reference: We live in the south Tyler/Flint area.

I have an HD antenna for about 3 years now and stream shows.

It's on my south facing window and works fine. Only station that is really sporadic is channel 7 I live close to 49 and broadway. I can't remember the exact website but it gives you the signal strengths in your area. I know they make ones that attach to your roof that are more powerful. Keep in mind that storms do affect some of the signals.

Edit. Found the website

Unless something has changed, you need the bunny ears to reach channel 7. Channel 7 is VHF and the rest are UHF.

Good choice on cord cutting. I cut cable back in 2009 when I was unemployed and I never went back. Never got in to the streaming thing so when my TV broke in 2015 I just never replaced it.

I have Mohu (sp?) Sky 60 mounted in my attic. I plugged it into the splitter that was already there for Dish Network, so it needs all my TVs. I occasionally have trouble getting channel 7 but not often.
