Well, the bizarre thread about Rufus made me want to post an odd thread myself. Does anybody know what the deal is with $1 Jewelry Galore in Tyler? If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's on the south side of the loop at the Paluxy intersection (Next to the AT&T store). I wouldn't normally even know such a store exists, but I live fairly close to it, and look at it nearly every day while sitting at the Paluxy light. In the 1 year to 18 months it's been open, I have never, ever seen a customer in the store, or even a car in the parking lot in front of it. It's always open (I drove by at 10pm the other day and it was open), and yet, no customers. I have no idea how much $1 jewelry you have to sell to pay the rent, but it has to be a lot. I'm about 3/4 convinced the store is a money laundering operation for some East Texas meth ring, and that I will bet snuffed for even talking about it, but I can't help myself.
I have no idea why this place intrigues me. Maybe if I even saw one customer I would stop caring, but I've gotten where I stare in the window every time I drive past. My wife thinks I'm crazy.
