It didn't surprise me, either, as they had lots of tax troubles and had suffered for years from less than stellar management, or so I've been told. Still, the actual fact is remnascent of a situation when you know a relative's time is limited but it is still a shock when they pass away. El Charro was an honest-to-goodness Tyler institution that will be missed by many (not to mention what it infers about our mortality). PS -- There will never, ever, no how no way, be a better avocado salad. It's impossible. Their Special sauce was top of the tree, too.
