I'm staying a weekend at my buddy's lakehouse and was wondering if there are any good eats on the north side the lake (or anywhere nearby). Dont really care what kind of food but was thinking there might be some good local spots around there. We have been up to the lakehouse a few times before but typically dont go out for dinner.

Lakehouse is on the north side of the lake off of FM 226, south of SH 103. Thanks

My parents have a lakehouse at the Point (Rayburn CC) on the south end, so the only places I know of are on that end: the Stump off of 255 on the W side of HWY 96 N of Jasper, and Catfish Cabin (HWY 96 in Jasper). Probably pretty far from you, since you are probably a lot closer to Lufkin / Nacgodoches / St. Augustine. They have a place in Nacogdoches called the Clear Springs Cafe that's pretty good, too.

Rayburn Country is a golf course near Jasper, if you are over that direction they have some pretty good food and drinks there. Everything is newly renovated, including the clubhouse, it's a nice place to eat, and if you and your buddies are into golf, it's a really nice golf course
