The closest you'll get to a micro brew-pub is to buy what you like at the liquor store or Brookshire's (depending on where you live) and drink it in your garage (with the door closed so your neighbors don't discuss amongst themselves about how much of a heathen you are). I've always thought that the first person who jumps at the opportunity to open one will be wildly successful. And I mean "Popeyes on the loop in Tyler" successful.

That place is crazy. Lines extending down the loop.

You have to remember that you're talking about an area that didn't even sell alcohol until very recently, let alone produce any.

I have always thought that the old movie theater at 5th street and the loop would make a great Microbrew. I have no interest in starting it, but if anyone does, I expect some free beer for suggesting it.

As of Jan 1 you can sell beer and wine...no liquor. Troup and Winona sell hard stuff.
