I don't like el charro anymore they changed management and they are going down hill fast. I give it a few more years before they are done. I used to work there with PG... Well I worked he mostly lounged around. They have a huge menu and have a lot of misses but if you know what to get you are good but like I said its not even worth it anymore.

Stanley's. can't go wrong with the brother in law sandwich. Off the chain!

Stayed in Longview last night on business. I've been wanting to go to Johnny Cace's everytime but thry had some bad UrbanSpoon reviews. Ate at Goung Zhou Bistro. It's a little pricey but everything was great, except my miso soup but that is because I'm not a seaweed fan. Definitely recommend this place. Also Carlito's, where we ate last year.

BTW, there seems to be an inordinate number of Asian restaurants in Longview.

Johnny Cace's hasn't changed a bit in the 20 years I've been going there. I mean that literally. Same customers, same waitresses, same menu. It's still pretty good, but they cater more to the 65+ crowd these days. If you're looking for some really good Cajun seafood, go about 3 doors down to Dudley's.

I really worry about Cace's once the older crowd is gone. I love Chelsea Case to death and she's trying really hard to keep the place running.

GZ's is really good! It's probably the only asian restaurant locally that isn't a hibachi grill or buffet all you can eat.

I love dudley's for cajun though...

If you want to make sure you have enough grease in your veins, I recommend JB's Hot Links in Hughes Springs (about 40 or so miles north of Longview/Marshall).

I wont drive through Long view without trying to stop at Dudley's for some cajun food

Fuglers Grocery in Harleton has the best burger in east Texas. I might add...it is real east Texas.

What About Kabob's has a good burger; get it with feta if you want a good cheese burger.
