Possible job opportunity for me in Liberty.

Have only been out there for my interview so don't know much about the area. Anyone have advice on places to live either in Liberty or neighboring town/counties.

TIA.

I grew up in Dayton. There is not much to do around Liberty County, but if you're looking for a place to settle down, it's a pretty calm and quiet town. Cost of living is lower than a larger city setting and it's only a 40 minute commute for me to Houston for work.

Thank you!

Looking at areas that are within a 30 minute commute radius outside of Liberty.

Mont Belvieu, TX is where I'd suggest

there are some sketchy parts. I'd suggest neighborhoods like Regency, Forest Hills, or Travis Park if you don't want to live in the country or sketchy areas.
Once you visit you will be able to tell really quickly where the nicer parts are. There is also lots of county roads with nice houses though.

If you don't mind me asking, where do you get your job?

Pretty much what atalexander said. There are good areas outside of those three subdivisions. I didn't live in one of those three and it was fine, so don't let that throw you off. Basic rule of thumb is the closer you get to the river, the more sketch the area becomes. And DON'T live in Ames.

If you only want a 30 minute commute go with Barbers Hill / Mont Belvieu area.

Without a doubt, I'd live in Summerwood, Fall Creek, Atascosita, or Kingwood. Mont Belvue in a pinch...

All within 30-35 minutes.
