My daughters are attending a church camp next week in Athens. My wife and I were thinking of hanging out nearby for a little R&R for a couple of days.

Does anyone recommend a good place to stay or sites to see? I wouldn't mind renting a boat or going fishing...

Dont know if you are going to be around Canton on first Monday , weekend, but it gets crowded. THe Mill Creek campgrounds , walking distance to trades days, has some cabins, if not on 1st Monday, ought to be some available. They look OK, do not know cleaniness, etc. I would stay there in RV--pool etc. Far from fishing or boating. You might want to check out the Villages on Palestine for lake side stuff.
