Went to the grand opening party at Lago del Pino in Tyler last night. This may be one of the most grand restaurants/bar in the state. There are two massive bars (upstairs and downstairs ) with flatscreens around the room. This will be the perfect place to watch football games. My wife 's family are good friends with the owners. They want this to be a place where people come to party and have fun. All 3 of the owner's sons currently attend A&M. Check out their website or facebook page...

You might recommend putting an address or location button on the home page, I had to hunt around a little to find it under the "Contact us" tab. Otherwise looks interesting and I am sure I will check it out this summer when I'm in town.

Looks awesome, looks like a great place to take the gf this weekend for her birthday. Lots of interesting history on that property.

I took my gf there this weekend, awesome building/property. Great outdoor seating over looking the lake and had a good band playing. The atmosphere was great for our 2 1/2 hour wait! Not a typo 2 1/2 hrs! And this was with probably at least a 3rd of the dining room closed.I expected a wait and tried to make reservations, first the gf called and was told they were full. Then I called and was told that they don't take reservations, but call aheads were welcome. So then we called before we went and were then told that they didn't accept call aheads?! So we went anyway and just had drinks out back until we were seated. The rest of the experience sucked. They were severely understaffed. I understand this was the first week they were open, but it was bad, really bad. After being seated we waited 15 minutes until we had a waiter come take our drink order. The waiter was very nice, but not very trained. The food is moderately priced, but wasn't very good. I had the prime rib enchiladas, which were more like plain ol beef enchiladas. The rice was very bland and I had a long curly hair in my beans. My gf complained that her chicken was very bland as well. However, the appetizer we chose was the creamy artichoke bacon dip and it was delicious. They served a limited menu so hopefully it improves, no steaks were available on the limited menu. The kitchen must have been backed up as well because it took about 30 min to get our food. We were very patient and never got upset with our servers, but for the sake of the restaurant I hope it improves, otherwise this place won't make it a month. Conclusion, great place to go for drinks or watch a football game, but unless the food and service improves I can't recommend it for dinner. I honestly think they were just rushed to open and did so a little prematurely.

Sorry you didn't have that great of an experience out there but what i have learned in Tyler is that you never EVER EVER EVER go to a restaurant that just opened up. The shine on new restaurants are to big and everyone and their mother wants to go out there. Give it about 2-3 months before you go. We designed the building and went to the trail opening and the food was good and was hoping. We did hear that they are booked solid for 2 months. Mean they have general seating open but parts of the restaurant are closed off.

They will work out their kinks in the next couple of weeks and should be ready to go in 2 months or so. My friends and I have been dying to head out there but we are going to wait. Chuys sucked for a while too and is finally going in stride. With that being said our office is going to have lunch out there in a few weeks and I will report back.

I'll definitely give it another go in a few months. It has tons of potential. Hope they get everything worked out and do well.

Yes I agree that they will work out the kinks. My parents have been in the restaurant buiness their entire lives here in Palestine and and no opening has ever gone smoothly. I have no doubt this place will be a success.

Went for lunch on Thursday. Trying to avoid the typical new Tyler eatery crowds. I was impressed. Being new to Tyler this is the type of place in can take my Dallas friends out to and not have them feel like I've moved to a "hick" town.

Great atmosphere, awesome Design, nice interior, and good food. Server was under trained, but that's okay, he admittedly was new.

Overall, really excited to have a new place in town (out of town) to add to the rotation.
