Titus County, Mt. Vernon is the resting place of CSA Henry Clay Thurston, 7' 7-1/2" tallest soldier during the War of Northern Aggression on the South (1861-65).

Check out Mike Cox story on TexasEscapes.com -"Tallest Rebel".
