I am looking for a house to rent on a lake. I work in Longview, but currently live in Tyler. Dont want to get much father away from Longview than Tyler, so Lake Tyler or Lake Cherokee would be great. Lake Gladewater would be ok too. If anybody knows of anything available let me know. Thanks.

BMach,
While I don't have anything for you to rent my parents have one of the only undeveloped lake lots left on Lake Gladewater. It's for sale if you want to buy and build instead.

if you get a place on cherokee, don't worry about buying a boat. pretty much useless out there.

I grew up on Cherokee and my parents still live there. It is pretty much a party lake, but a boat is almost a necessity. Unfortunately, lake rules do not allow renting of houses out there. The real estate prices is starting to make California look like a bargain too.

Caddo dominates every lake in that area.

Tyler lakes are good for dumping bodies and trash. That's about it.

There is a house on the lake in Hideaway for sale but is currently leased. It should be available soon and they might be open to leasing again. We looked at buying but decided we really wanted to be on the third lake and are holding out till one comes available. It is a decent house ans has one of the largest yards on the lake. I am not sure the address right now but I am sure that if you call the I20 Team they can help you find it. We live in Hideaway currently and love it here.

caddo can be a lot of fun. cherokee is a lot of fun as well. just hard to ski or wakeboard on weekends due to all the jet skiis out there. the lake isn't big enough to support all that...atleast it was that way when i was in high school/college. have to imagine it is still the same or worse now. and paying "california real estate prices" for a lot on cherokee in east texas is pretty damn funny. fun place, but if true, seems like a pretty big waste of money.
